Hello and welcome to my profile. I am a highly-qualified and experienced Specialist Teacher in Specific Learning Difficulties.

I have been teaching dyslexic children from 6 – 18 for the past 22 years. Here are my qualifications:

Bachelor of Education (Hons) (Cantab)

Master of Arts in Education

Diploma in Counselling Children and Adolescents (Distinction)

Post-Graduate Diploma in Literacy Difficulties (Distinction)

National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership

I also hold an Assessment Practising Certificate

I am a professional practice tutor on the PPAR and AAA courses for PATOSS as well as a mentor for specialist assessors. I am an APC reviewer for the BDA. I am a Fellow of the Dyslexia Guild.

I am also a member of the Standardised Tests Evaluation Committee which is part of SASC.

I assess and diagnose:

Working Memory Difficulties

Dyscalculia

I can also diagnose Dyspraxia in over 16's

The Law: Dylexia is a recognised disability under the Equality Act (2010) which requires organisations (including schools & colleges) to ensure that people with disabilities are not treated unfairly and are offered reasonable adjustments.

Access Arrangements: Following an assessment by a qualified person such as myself there may be entitlement to:-

Extra time
A reader
oral language modifier
a scribe
use of a laptop
use of assistive software
exam papers on coloured paper or in a dyslexia friendly font
hard copy rather than on-screen
rest breaks
separate room
