ASSESSMENT FOR DYSLEXIA

The Process

We can only assess children of 6 years old and over. This is because the tests we use are standardised for children from this age.

We can also assess students going to University and other adults.

1.Telephone us to discuss your concerns: 01767 303 121.

2.We then book an appointment for you to visit our clinic centrally located in Cambridgeshire with easy access from the A1, the M1, the M11 and the A14.

3.We will email you an information form. Please complete as much information as you can. The more background history we have, the easier it is for us to make a diagnosis.

4.Email or post the form as well as any other information, IEPs, school reports, healthcare reports, etc. if you have them. We need these at least 14 days prior to the appointment.

5.The appointment lasts up to 3 hours and you are welcome to stay and wait.

The testing process includes:

Underlying ability 

Word Reading and Reading Comprehension

Reading Efficiency

Reading Fluency, Accuracy and Speed

Spelling

Handwriting

Processing

Memory

6.At the end of the testing process, we go through our initial findings.

7.Within 3 weeks, we email you and post you a comprehensive report of our findings, including recommendations for you and the school.

8.We will ask you to pay a small deposit with the balance due before the appointment. Fees:  From £395 (Depends on age).

9.It may be the case that we refer you on to another professional, for example a paediatrician.
